Loudoun Medical Group (LMG), one of the largest and most diverse physician-owned, multi-specialty group practices in Virginia, has an exciting employment opportunity. We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our medical practice. The CMA plays a key role in supporting physicians and advanced practice providers by delivering compassionate, efficient, and high-quality patient care in a clinical setting.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare patients for exams, ensuring comfort and confidentiality.
- Obtain and document accurate patient information, including medical history, vital signs, medications, and allergies.
- Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Administer injections, immunizations, and medications as directed and in accordance with licensure and practice protocols.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
- Maintain exam rooms and clinical equipment; ensure proper sterilization and inventory of supplies.
- Process medication refills and prior authorizations under provider guidance.
- Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and manage patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency.
- Educate patients on procedures, medications, and follow-up care.
- Accurately enter information into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and all clinical and administrative policies.
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential through AAMA, AMT, or equivalent certification required.
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Prior experience in a medical office or outpatient clinical setting preferred.
- Proficient in EMR systems and general computer use.
