Position Summary
Tall Oaks is seeking a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Assistant to help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents and staff.
This role supports daily maintenance operations, completes repairs, and assists with apartment turnovers. The ideal candidate has general maintenance experience, strong attention to detail, and a team-oriented mindset.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, flooring, appliances, and minor repairs)
- Complete preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency situations (e.g., leaks, flooding)
- Assist with apartment turnovers, including painting, repairs, and carpet cleaning
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings and grounds
- Perform seasonal duties such as snow and ice removal and leaf cleanup
- Assist with furniture assembly and moving
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance or related experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of building systems and repair work
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Dependable, professional, and customer-service oriented
Schedule
- Full-time
- May include occasional on-call or after-hours support
