Job Overview
We are seeking a bartender to join our team. We are a small, veteran-owned brewery with great local clientele, a vibrant mug club, and an excellent beer selection. We have an exciting outer space / SciFi theme in our taproom, and are associated with local American Legion posts, veteran charities, and other service-related groups. We are currently open Thursdays through Sundays, but are looking to expand into Wednesdays and Tuesdays as well as we grow our team, subject to your individual availability. We are excited to have you as a part of our growing business!
Duties
- Bartending (serving our beer), produced in-house, and ensuring quality and service standards are met.
- Engaging with our clientele in a friendly, professional manner, providing recommendations and answering questions about our beer menu.
- Managing our POS (Point of Sale) system to process orders accurately, handle cash and credit cards to complete sales transactions.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar and taproom area, adhering to food safety and food handling regulations at all times.
- Communicating needs for replenishment of bar supplies and stock to management promptly.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety standards, alcohol service laws, and responsible serving practices.
- Collaborating with owners and other staff members to deliver a high-quality experience to our guests.
Skills
- Experience in food service or restaurant environments and Point of Sale (POS) systems is preferred.
- Existing knowledge of beer styles and tastes, or a strong desire to learn.
- Time management skills to handle multiple tables and customers at the bar.
- Exceptional customer service abilities and a positive attitude that enhances guest experiences.
- Familiarity with the food industry’s safety standards related to food handling, basic math for cash handling, retail math for inventory management, and alcohol serving regulations.
- Experience or knowledge of brewing processes or the beer industry as a whole is preferred.
Pay: $4.00 - $5.00 per hour
