Kusshi Sushi is looking for a experienced cooks who are ready to take the next step in their culinary career. We are a fast paced dining restaurant that specializes in sushi and Japanese traditional dishes as well as Izakaya.
Our executive Culinary team is looking for candidates that have experience in fast paced kitchens who are ready to take on a leadership role. This team will teach you ordering and product management, scheduling, and inventory management. Upon learning our menu, you can have the opportunity to create new items that will be featureed at mulitple locations within the restaurant group.
Although experience in a kitchen is a must, management is not. Our executive culinary team will train you thoroughly as long as you have a passion for running an efficient kitchen in addition to a curiousity for developing your Japanese cuisine pallate and techniques.
Duties
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food preparation, presentation, and service quality.
- Manage inventory control and food production processes to minimize waste and optimize costs.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all kitchen areas.
- Supervise shift management, including scheduling staff, monitoring performance, and providing coaching or training as needed.
- Oversee food handling procedures, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients.
- Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs or replacements promptly.
- Foster a team environment that promotes leadership development, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Skills
- Fluency in Spanish preferred
- Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced food service or restaurant setting.
- Strong desire to develop leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively.
- Willing to learn inventory management, cost control, and food industry best practices.
- Excellent understanding of food safety protocols and sanitation standards.
- Willing to learn kitchen management systems, inventory control tools, and food handling procedures.
- Ability to oversee multiple responsibilities including shift management, food service management, and catering operations.
- Exceptional communication skills coupled with a passion for hospitality excellence.
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
