Ashling is searching for a professional Chef, who enjoys managing an amazing team and running a great kitchen operation for a multi million dollar growing business. Our business is so unique and fun as it comes to the broad range of people we feed and the different aspects of what we do in the industry. Ashling started as a 2 person catering company, who specialized in backstage food catering for professional music bands. Our venues we cook at include The Lyric, Pier 6, Capital One, MGM National Harbor, MD Live, Warner Theater and more. We then took our amazing culinary talent and opened our restaurant, Ashling Kitchen & Bar, in Crofton MD. Now we have expanded our footprint into Wedding & Corporate Catering and are preferred caterers on over eight venues in Maryland.
Responsibilities:
- Kitchen Sanitation & Cleanliness is extremely important
- Oversee and work with Executive Chef on all catering operations for Ashling, to include artist catering, weddings, corporate clients, and more.
- Prepping and chef series education - help get ahead of events, and teach the team how to be better at their trade
- Drive and cook out of one of Ashling's mobile kitchens when needed
- Help work with Chef in the creation of Around The World (ATW) Specials we showcase every 6 weeks.
* Every 6 weeks, come up with unique specials to place on the menu for a 6-week time-frame to feature food from selected regions picked by owners and Chef
- Work with Marketing team daily to ensure constant flow of information
- Work with Catering Team Daily to help write menus and review daily catering needs
- Learn Triple Seat to ensure complete communication with the company
- Ensure Kitchen Recipe Manual is updated routinely with any updates or additions to BOH manual
- Ensure every food item has food costing added to Kitchen SOP book
MUST HAVE:
- ServSafe Certification
- Food Safety Manager Certification
- Drivers License
- 5+ Years Kitchen Management Experience with REFERENCES
- Understanding of business management and accounting principles
- Ability to cost menu items | maintain & understand what a declining budget is | create new menu items
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills (bi-lingual a plus)
- Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources
