Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and empathetic Bilingual Medical Assistant (English/Spanish) to join our growing part-time team. In this role, you will be the bridge between our providers and our Spanish-speaking patients, ensuring clear communication, accurate medical charting, and a welcoming environment. The position has clinical duties and administrative duties.
Position Accountabilities and Performance Objectives:
- To assist the physician and team with chaperoning, translating, and helping with in-office minor procedures.
- To assist the patient with changing dressings and applying post surgical garments.
- To participate with the office team and maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment
- Bilingual Support: Translate and interpret medical information accurately between English-speaking providers and Spanish-speaking patients (in-person and over the phone).
- Keep exam rooms fully stocked and always ready for patient care
- Maintain professional image through proper attire and grooming
- Respond to telephone inquiries.
- Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/;physician/pharmacy calls
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient scheduling, verify insurance, and update electronic health records (EHR).
- Reception Assistance.
- General assistance with any patient or team member.
Qualifications:
- Language: Must be fully fluent in both English and Spanish (written and verbal).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinic.
- Education: High school diploma; graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program is required.
- Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through AAMA, or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred but not required].
- Skills: Computer Proficiency, Organizational Skills, Affability
Pay: $19.50 - $24.00 per hour
