Position Summary
The Cafeteria/Nutrition Manager is responsible for the daily onsite management of food service operations at Saint John Paul the Great Catholic High School. This role oversees cafeteria operations including ordering, inventory management, meal planning, food preparation, staff supervision, financial oversight, and customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced school cafeteria environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily cafeteria operations and ensure efficient food service execution.
- Oversee ordering, inventory control, meal planning, food preparation, and meal service.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise cafeteria staff and student workers.
- Maintain strong communication with school administration, Fairfax Food Service departments, and cafeteria team members.
- Manage operational documents including menu data, forecasting, reporting, and performance metrics.
- Prepare sales reports and monitor account status.
- Support company goals through efficient operations and strong team leadership.
- Track food supplies and ingredients; verify deliveries and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Manage food service budgets, control operational costs, minimize food waste, and process daily financial records including sales and deposits.
- Deliver excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or approved equivalency diploma required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of management experience with direct employee supervision.
- Minimum of three (3) years of food service experience.
- ServSafe Certification required or ability to obtain certification within 90 days.
- Strong understanding of basic nutrition principles.
- Must possess knowledge of common food allergens and safe food-handling practices to ensure the health and safety of students with food allergies.
- Ability to perform well in busy, time-sensitive environments.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with technology and food service systems.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Nutrislice menu program preferred.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.

Physical & Employment Requirements
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must be able to speak and read English.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
