We are a family carpet and rug retail business looking to have someone join our team as a warehouse assistant and rug fabricating apprentice. We are looking for someone who is ready to learn new skills and excited to embark on a new career. You will perform some general warehouse duties such as receiving and inspecting carpet, cutting carpet, helping load installers and occasionally joining installers for onsite support. . You will also learn how to cut and bind carpet into rugs under our lead fabricator.
Duties:
- Assist in the fabrication of rugs under our lead fabricator- learn how to cut and bind carpet into rugs
- Receive, inspect and verify completeness of incoming shipments against purchase orders and shipping papers; maintain shipping and receiving logs
- Operate within safety parameters at all times
- Ensure that shipped goods are correctly recorded, packaged, and labeled
- Help maintain inventory logs - Mark materials with identifying information using the appropriate method
- Operate a variety of warehouse equipment such as fork lifts and hand carts
- Must regularly lift and move objects 50-100LBS
- Light cleaning duties
