About the Role
Skoda Contracting is a fast-growing utility construction company with 50+ years of experience building infrastructure across the East Coast. We're expanding our DMV Division and looking for a dependable, hands-on Warehouse & Shop Assistant to keep our Beltsville yard running at full speed.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys staying active, working with their hands, and wants a long-term career path in the construction and trades industry. You'll support our field crews in MD, DC, and VA — making sure the right materials, tools, and equipment get to the right place at the right time.
Entry-level candidates are welcome — construction experience is a plus, not a requirement.
What You'll Do
Drive a company vehicle to deliver materials, tools, and equipment to job sites across MD, DC, and VA
Pick up materials and supplies from local vendors
Work with vendors to source and obtain materials, tools, and equipment
Order materials and maintain appropriate inventory levels
Pull, bundle, and pre-stage materials in advance so crews are loaded and ready to roll at the start of each shift
Stage equipment and vehicles for crews at the start of each shift
Keep the shop yard clean, organized, and fully stocked
Maintain and landscape the yard property, including mowing, trimming, and general groundskeeping
Operate equipment including forklifts, skid steers, backhoes, and other heavy equipment as needed
Assist with basic mechanical tasks
Handle data entry and clerical tasks in company tracking systems
Communicate clearly with field crews, vendors, and customers
Perform other related duties as needed
Pay & Benefits
$20.00 – $25.00/hour (based on experience)
Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance (after 90 days)
Paid time off
Monday–Friday | Training hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM for the first two weeks, shifting to 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM thereafter
