Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers equipped with refrigerated trailers to transport perishable freight over designated routes.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently, ensuring proper handling of refrigerated goods to maintain quality standards.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, including checking refrigeration units, brakes, tires, lights, and load securement.
- Manage route driving with precision, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure timely deliveries.
- Handle freight documentation accurately and maintain detailed logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery records.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any issues encountered on the road.
- Maintain cleanliness and routine maintenance of the truck and trailer to uphold safety standards.
Skills
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and experience operating tractor-trailers.
- Proficiency in driving automatic trucks for versatile route requirements.
- Experience with refrigerated trailers (reefers), Dry Van
- Strong knowledge of load securement techniques and cargo handling procedures.
- Familiarity with route driving strategies to optimize delivery times while ensuring safety.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers and customers; attentive to detail for accurate documentation.
