Known for our energetic atmosphere, live DJs, sports watch parties, happy hours, private events, VIP sections, and weekend nightlife, Grand Central offers a unique experience for both guests and staff.
Position Overview
Grand Central DC is looking for outgoing, reliable, and high-energy Bartenders to join our team. We are seeking individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy engaging with guests, and can deliver exceptional service during both restaurant and nightlife operations.
This position is ideal for experienced bartenders, hospitality professionals, students, or anyone who enjoys working in a social and energetic atmosphere. Weekend and late-night availability is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional guest service and create a welcoming, engaging atmosphere.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and operate the Toast POS system.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar stations throughout service.
- Monitor guest experience and proactively address service needs.
- Promote specials, events, bottle service, and VIP experiences when appropriate.
- Follow all alcohol service, safety, and food handling regulations.
- Work collaboratively with bartenders, servers, barbacks, security, and management.
- Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties.
- Maintain professionalism during high-volume restaurant, sports, and nightlife operations.
Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-oriented mindset.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and responsible alcohol service.
- Familiarity with Toast POS is preferred.
- TIPS certification or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
