Duties
- Assist in preparing and serving meals according to menu plans, ensuring timely delivery to residents.
- Follow food safety standards and proper handling procedures to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment.
- Support culinary staff with food preparation tasks, including slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Help with meal plating and presentation to enhance the dining experience for residents.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and food service equipment in compliance with safety standards.
- Support dietary department operations by organizing supplies, labeling food items, and assisting with inventory management.
- Provide friendly and respectful food service to residents, catering to special dietary requirements when needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary services or food industry settings is preferred.
- Experience as a dietary aide or in a restaurant or kitchen environment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and meal service techniques.
- Familiarity with safety standards in food production and handling practices.
- Strong knife skills and slicing techniques for efficient food prep.
- Understanding of food safety management principles to prevent contamination or spoilage.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards resident care and service excellence.
