Duties
- Safely operate your personal vehicle, including box trucks or similar vehicles, to deliver packages and materials to various locations.
- Load and unload items using manual handling techniques, ensuring safe lifting practices and adherence to weight handling regulations.
- Follow designated routes while adhering to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards for commercial driving.
- Use mobile devices or GPS systems for route navigation and delivery tracking, maintaining communication with dispatch as needed.
- Assist with warehouse operations when required, including material handling equipment operation such as pallet jacks or forklifts for moving goods within the facility.
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring deliveries are accurate, timely, and handled professionally.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure your personal vehicle remains in optimal condition for daily deliveries.
Experience
- Prior delivery driver experience preferred, especially with courier or driver roles involving route driving and customer interaction.
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is advantageous for understanding loading/unloading procedures.
- Experience operating commercial trucks, box trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge of manual transmission vehicles and safe lifting practices is desirable.
- Ability to adhere strictly to traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety protocols during all aspects of delivery driving.
- Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on heavy lifting and proper load management in the workplace.
- Excellent communication skills using mobile devices for routing updates and customer interactions.
