We are seeking a skilled Commercial Building Maintenance Technician to provide exceptional maintenance services across a portfolio of commercial properties within an assigned territory. This position is ideal for a well-rounded maintenance professional who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and delivering outstanding customer service.
You will be provided with a company vehicle, tools, and mobile technology to travel between customer locations, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and general building maintenance. Success in this role requires a strong working knowledge of multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, painting, and general facility maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Complete preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance according to work orders and customer requirements.
- Diagnose and repair a wide variety of commercial building systems and equipment.
- Perform emergency repairs to minimize downtime and maintain facility operations.
- Conduct routine building inspections and asset evaluations.
General Building Maintenance
- Perform minor plumbing repairs, including:
- Repairing clogged toilets and urinals
- Replacing faucets, flush valves, sensors, and fixtures
- Repairing valve assemblies and plumbing components
- Complete minor electrical repairs permitted by state regulations, including:
- Replacing switches, outlets, fixtures, ballasts, sockets, and light bulbs
- Perform carpentry repairs such as:
- Drywall repair
- Door and hardware repairs
- Ceiling tile replacement
- General finish carpentry
- Complete painting and touch-up work to maintain a professional appearance throughout customer facilities.
- Repair walls, floors, doors, and other building finishes as needed.
Customer Service
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers through professional communication and quality workmanship.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal support teams regarding work status and project updates.
- Provide estimates for larger repair projects when requested.
Technology & Documentation
- Utilize company-issued tablets and smartphones to:
- Receive and complete work orders
- Document services performed
- Submit service reports and inspection photos
- Complete timesheets and expense reports
- Track purchases and materials
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Attend required safety meetings and complete all required compliance training.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2–5 years of commercial building maintenance or general maintenance experience.
- Experience performing electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building repairs.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel locally throughout an assigned territory each day.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple service calls.
Preferred
- Experience servicing commercial buildings or facilities.
- Trade school education or certifications in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, or related skilled trades.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
- OSHA certification.
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or work order software.

Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
