Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable local route Driver in the DC/MD/VA metro area to join our team. As a Driver, you will be responsible for transporting cars to various locations throughout the DMV area. This is a crucial role in our organization as you will be the face of our company delivering to local dealerships and auctions.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a 3-car hauler combination with dually truck, adhering to all traffic laws, all relevant regulations, and company policies.
- Transport cars in short distances dealing with a lot of stop and go traffic, ensuring timely delivery to designated locations.
- Handle and secure cars to prevent damage during transit.
- Ability to work locally and adapt to varying schedules and routes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure proper functionality and identify any maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and Hours of Service (HOS) requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and the logistics team to coordinate delivery schedules and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Utilize GPS navigation and a personal cell phone for efficient route planning and navigation.
- Use email to submit required paperwork promptly.
- Utilize Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) to accurately record driving hours and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Follow directions precisely from dispatchers to coordinate delivery schedules.
- Provide excellent customer service while representing the company on the road.
- Expertise in handling time-sensitive vehicle delivery and adapting to changing routes
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year experience driving commercial vehicles.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Ability to safely loading and unloading vehicles on and off the trailer as well properly secure them using all 4 straps.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must have DOT Medical Card. (if you don't, it's okay we'll get you one)
- Ability to secure loads with straps.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
- Proficiency in GPS navigation systems.
- Must have a cell phone for communication and navigation purposes.
- Ability to follow directions accurately and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Capacity to adapt to changing schedules and routes.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings as required.
