Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual and automatic transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling of sensitive cargo.
- Manage route driving responsibilities.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours and vehicle inspections in compliance with federal regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and resolve any issues promptly
Skills
- Proven experience driving commercial vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions and tractor-trailers
- Strong knowledge of freight handling including load & unload procedures for US MAIL
- Ability to drive safely over long distances while managing route schedules efficiently
- Excellent understanding of trucking regulations and safety protocols for commercial driving
- Skilled in vehicle inspection routines and basic maintenance awareness to ensure optimal truck performance
