Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Cold Line / Food Preparation Associate to join our food service team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing cold and hot food items, ensuring that all dishes meet quality standards and safety regulations. You’ll work in a dynamic environment, supporting meal production and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen. The ideal candidate has experience in food preparation, understands food safety protocols, and enjoys working collaboratively to deliver delicious meals efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Prepare cold line items such as salads, sandwiches, and appetizers according to established recipes and portion sizes.
- Assist with hot food preparation, including cooking, slicing, and plating dishes while adhering to recipe guidelines.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including slicers, knives, mixers, and other culinary tools.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations by following proper sanitation procedures and cleaning schedules.
- Support meal assembly and presentation for catering events or daily service.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food prep and ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Follow all food safety standards in handling ingredients, storing supplies properly, and managing food rotation.
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments or food service environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and food industry safety standards.
- Skills in food preparation techniques such as slicing, chopping, and portioning using proper knife skills.
- Experience with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of food handling procedures and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork with kitchen staff and front-of-house personnel.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
