Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including utensils and equipment.
- Ensure proper food handling and storage practices to comply with health regulations.
- Assist in menu planning, offering creative ideas for seasonal dishes or specials.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff, including dietary aides, to ensure smooth operations during service.
- Monitor food inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
Experience
- Previous experience as a cook in a restaurant or food industry setting is preferred.
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and dietary department regulations is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A background in culinary arts or related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
