IT Support Specialist
Job Summary
The IT Support Specialist is primarily responsible for the daily operations of the core processing system, building and maintaining workstations and in-house technical support to end users of the Credit Union’s hardware and software.
Essential Duties
- Act in accordance with the core values to assist in reaching APL Federal Credit Union’s mission and vision.
- Facilitate daily core processing:
- Prepare and complete daily checklist
- Verify End of Day
- Commit core items to Nautilus
- Process Share Drafts
- Assist in coordinating the Credit Union’s daily data processing activities, including application support, and peripheral troubleshooting.
- Responsible for basic troubleshooting of hardware and software to support to all Credit Union staff.
- Assist in installation, setup, and maintenance of new computer systems, application software, and network equipment as directed by the VP/Chief Information Officer.
- Provide support for hardware and software inventories.
- Validate Verapass backups completion.
- Responsible for writing and maintaining procedures for IT operations as they relate to the duties of the position.
- Assist with vendor contact lists and Active Directory updates.
- Makes recommendations to the VP/Chief Information Officer on IT Department operations as it relates to efficiency, new technologies, and staff support.
- Remains abreast of computer technologies and trends and informs supervisor of potential improvements in the system that might enhance the credit union's ability to deliver enhanced products and services to members.
- Assists Management with special projects and assignments.
- Maintain information security.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus thorough knowledge of operating systems and software applications
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience with PC and network server support in a networked environment.
Working conditions
Work is performed in an office environment with minimal chance for personal injury and moderate noise level. There may be occasions when the work environment is stressful. Work hours will normally be from Monday through Friday and may change depending upon our needs. You will be expected to be available during weekends or after business hours as business dictates. May be asked to perform duties onsite at any of the three branch locations. Quarterly visits to the branches will be required.

The employee will need to lift box[es] and other supplies that may weigh in excess of 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

The hourly compensation range for this position is $23.00/hr- $27.00/hr.
