Duties

Prepare a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, breads, and cookies, following established recipes and standards
Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, mixing, dough preparation, and portioning ingredients for baking and cooking
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, dough sheeters, and other baking tools
Package baked items for sale or delivery with attention to presentation and quality standards
Decorate cakes and pastries using various cake decorating techniques to meet customer specifications
Maintain a clean workspace by adhering to food safety guidelines, sanitation protocols, and proper storage practices
Support high-volume production needs by working quickly and accurately during busy periods

Requirements

Proven experience in baking, pastry preparation, or food production within a commercial kitchen or bakery setting
Strong knife skills and proficiency in dough preparation techniques
Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to health regulations
Ability to follow recipes precisely while maintaining consistency in baked goods
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Basic math skills for measuring ingredients accurately and managing portion sizes
Customer service orientation with a positive attitude towards teamwork and collaboration
Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively
Previous catering or high-volume food production experience is preferred but not required
Passion for culinary arts with an eagerness to learn new baking techniques and industry standards
