Job Title: Data Center Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to support the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data center infrastructure. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge of hardware, cabling, and operational procedures to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient data center operations.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, stage, set up, and perform equipment startups and shutdowns (e.g., racks, servers, drives, switches) following documented procedures, checklists, and deployment guidelines
Perform post-deployment quality checks to verify proper grounding, labeling, staging, and cabling in accordance with safety standards and Network Design Tasks (NDTs)
Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues, identify root causes, and replace faulty components using established processes
Execute hardware decommissioning and lifecycle activities (e.g., upgrades, replacements, OS rebuilds) with minimal supervision
Follow established communication, reporting, and escalation procedures; promptly escalate issues to Data Center Technician Leads as needed
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for deployments, incidents, and changes

Required Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and associated components
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Previous data center experience
Hands-on experience with rack-and-stack deployments and structured cabling

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
