RSVP Catering is seeking an experienced, production-driven Pastry Sous Chef to support our high-volume dessert program for weddings, corporate events, galas, and private clients throughout the DMV.

This role requires strong knowledge of high-level pastry production, large-scale event execution, and the ability to manage multiple event timelines with precision and consistency. Catering experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Execute and oversee high-volume pastry production for multi-event days
Scale recipes accurately and manage yields, timelines, and quality control
Produce plated desserts, miniatures, wedding cakes, and large dessert displays
Assist with production scheduling, task delegation, and team supervision
Ensure proper labeling, storage, pack-out, and event-ready finishing
Support menu development and seasonal R&D
Maintain food safety and sanitation standards

Qualifications

3–6 years professional pastry experience
Strong background in high-volume production environments
Catering experience preferred
Skilled in plated dessert execution and display presentation
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Comfortable working early mornings, evenings, and weekends
Knowledge of CaterXpert or similar catering software a plus
ServSafe certification preferred

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
