Responsibilities

Safely operate box trucks and other commercial vehicles such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and tractor-trailers to deliver freight across assigned routes
Load and unload cargo efficiently using equipment like forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling of freight including refrigerated goods and heavy items
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking manual transmissions, brakes, lights, and refrigeration units when applicable
Plan optimal delivery routes to maximize efficiency and meet delivery schedules while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports for each trip; communicate any delays or issues promptly to dispatch
Assist with securing freight on flatbeds or roll-off trucks to prevent damage during transit
Collaborate with warehouse teams for seamless loading/unloading processes and ensure cargo is handled with care

Qualifications

Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and none CDL with a clean driving record
Proven one year experience as a delivery driver or truck driver in various settings such as freight transport or route driving
Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using pallet jack or manual methods when required
Strong understanding of route planning and navigation tools for timely deliveries
Physical ability to lift heavy cargo and perform vehicle inspections regularly
