Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Concrete Materials Laboratory Testing Technician to join our team. In this vital role, you will perform comprehensive preparation of concrete materials to perform characterization of the samples to determine performance and deterioration of materials for federal highway infrastructure research projects and forensic investigations. This work will require 100% on site work Monday - Friday from 7 am - 4pm.

Responsibilities

Prepare concrete, asphalt mixture, and granulate aggregate samples in accordance with established laboratory procedures for microscopic analysis and evaluation.
Conduct a variety of tests on concrete materials, including compressive strength, slump, air content, and moisture content analysis.
Maintain accurate records of test results using Laboratory Data Management processes and procedures or other data collection tools.
Ensure all laboratory activities comply with industry standards such as ASTM and AASHTO relevant safety protocols.
Calibrate laboratory equipment regularly to guarantee precise measurements and reliable results.
Support quality control initiatives by analyzing test data to identify trends or issues affecting material performance.
Ability to work in a lab independently
Ability to be on your feet 8 hours per day
Ability to lift 80 pounds

Qualifications

Proven experience in sampling, testing and quality control of aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and other paving materials.
Level 1 Highway or Materials Technician Certification from NICST or accredited academic institution or State DoT
Proven experience working with both highway field inspection procedures and laboatory testing of highway materials per AASHTO, ASTM, and/or State DOT methods.
Familiarity with laboratory techniques related to concrete testing, including compressive strength testing and slump tests.
Experience documenting and entering data into a computer based management systen.
Excellent attention to detail and in sample preparation.
Ability to follow detailed laboratory procedures while maintaining safety standards at all times.
High School Diploma
US Citizen
Able to pass a Federal Background Check (no previous arrests, no illegal drug use to include any use of marijuana), valid and active drivers license.

Pay: $26.41 - $31.80 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
