Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following established recipes and safety standards
Operate basic kitchen equipment including mixers, ovens, and food processors safely and efficiently
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances to uphold hygiene standards
Support meal preparation and plating for various service settings including catering events and dining areas
Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality in all food production activities
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure timely meal service
Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock levels

Qualifications

Previous experience in a dietary department or food service environment is preferred
Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production
Experience with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques including knife skills and slicing methods
Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment and maintaining cleanliness in a fast-paced setting
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and team members
Ability to follow recipes accurately and support meal preparation processes
Catering or restaurant experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility in food industry settings
