Position Summary

ITS Holistic Therapy LLC is seeking a compassionate, outgoing, and community-focused Community Mental Health Outreach & Referral Aide to assist with mental health prevention, education, community engagement, and connection to behavioral health resources.

This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys working directly within the community, attending events, building relationships, educating individuals and families about mental health resources, and helping people connect with appropriate counseling, psychiatric, social service, and community-based providers.

The Mental Health Outreach & Referral Aide does not provide psychotherapy, diagnose mental health conditions, or independently provide clinical services. The primary purpose of this position is prevention, education, outreach, resource navigation, and referral assistance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Attend community events, health fairs, schools, churches, neighborhood events, community centers, nonprofit events, and other community-based activities on behalf of ITS Holistic Therapy LLC.
Educate community members about mental health, emotional wellness, prevention, counseling services, and available behavioral health resources.
Distribute approved educational materials, brochures, referral information, and prevention resources.
Engage individuals and families who may benefit from counseling, psychiatric services, family support, substance-use services, parenting resources, or other community programs.
Help individuals identify appropriate services based on their stated needs.
Assist individuals with connecting to qualified behavioral health and community providers.
Make referrals to counseling providers, psychiatric providers, substance-use programs, community organizations, social-service agencies, and other appropriate resources.
Conduct follow-up contact when appropriate to determine whether individuals were successfully connected with referred services.
Maintain an updated directory of community resources and referral partners.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with community organizations, schools, churches, nonprofits, healthcare organizations, and other referral partners.
Assist with mental health awareness campaigns and prevention initiatives.
Participate in outreach activities designed to reduce stigma associated with seeking behavioral health services.
Support outreach efforts for underserved individuals and families who may experience barriers to accessing mental health services.
Assist individuals with understanding how to begin the counseling or referral process.
Provide general information regarding available services, accepted insurance plans, scheduling procedures, and community resources when authorized.
Refer clinical questions, emergencies, diagnoses, and treatment-related concerns to appropriately licensed or qualified clinical staff.
Document outreach activities, referrals, community contacts, event participation, and follow-up activities according to organizational procedures.
Track outreach outcomes, including the number of individuals contacted, referrals provided, successful connections to services, and community events attended.
Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and organizational privacy requirements.
Immediately notify appropriate clinical staff or emergency resources when an individual presents with an urgent safety concern in accordance with organizational procedures.
Participate in staff meetings, supervision, training, and community outreach planning.
Perform other prevention, outreach, and community engagement duties related to the program.

The Outreach Aide will assist individuals with accessing resources that may include:

Individual counseling
Family counseling
Couples counseling
Child and adolescent behavioral health services
Psychiatric evaluations
Medication management
Substance-use treatment
Parenting support
Foster and kinship caregiver support
Youth programs
Housing resources
Food assistance
Transportation resources
Domestic violence resources
Crisis services
Community support programs
Other health and social-service providers

The Outreach Aide serves as a connection point between the community and qualified service providers and does not independently determine clinical diagnoses or treatment recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Associate's or bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, sociology, human services, public health, counseling, criminal justice, education, or a related field preferred.
Experience working with children, families, behavioral health populations, or community-based programs preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Comfortable speaking with individuals, families, community leaders, and organizations.
Ability to professionally represent ITS Holistic Therapy LLC within the community.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work independently while following program policies and supervision requirements.
Basic computer and documentation skills.
Reliable transportation and ability to travel to community events and partner locations.
Availability for occasional evening or weekend community events.

Important Scope of Position

This is a non-clinical community outreach and referral position. The employee will not independently diagnose clients, develop treatment plans, provide psychotherapy, make clinical recommendations, or represent themselves as a licensed behavioral health professional unless separately credentialed and authorized to perform those services.

The employee's role is to educate, engage, identify needs, provide resources, facilitate referrals, and help individuals successfully connect with appropriate providers and community services.

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
