Responsibilities

Safely operate your tractor-trailer on over-the-road (OTR) routes, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
Manage the loading and unloading process, including manual handling of cargo such as logistics cargo or hazardous materials, ensuring proper load securement and compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
Navigate using GPS systems to optimize routes for efficiency and timely deliveries across diverse locations.
Transport a variety of freight types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks, depending on the assignment.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with all safety protocols.
Load and unload cargo accurately while maintaining proper documentation for each shipment.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any issues encountered during transit.

Requirements

Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the cargo type (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker).
Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across long distances.
Familiarity with truck loading/unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling techniques.
Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for dangerous goods transportation.
Experience operating different types of trucks such as tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds or tanker trucks.
Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles and perform manual handling tasks safely.
Strong understanding of route planning using GPS navigation tools to maximize efficiency.
