JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Technician in a Men’s Sexual Health Clinic provides technical and clinical support in diagnosing and treating sexual related conditions. The Medical Technician works closely with healthcare providers, assists in patient assessments, and ensures a high standard of patient care within the clinic. This role requires excellent communication skills and professionalism, particularly when addressing sensitive issues related to male sexual health.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Collect blood draws ensuring patient comfort and dignity throughout the process.
· Conduct initial assessments, including obtaining vital signs and complete a patient physical.
· Review relevant medical histories of the patient.
· Address patient concerns with professionalism and empathy, particularly in regards to sensitive topics related to men’s sexual health.
· Support physicians, nurse practitioners, and physicians assistants during consultations and procedures related to men’s sexual health.
· Assist in the administration of treatments such as shockwave therapy or platelet-rich plasma therapy under the supervision of a licensed medical staff.
· Monitor patients during and after treatments to ensure safety and effectiveness, and report any adverse reactions to the healthcare team.
· Maintain detailed and accurate records of all patient interactions and treatment procedures.
· Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality, particularly when handling sensitive sexual health information.
· Monitor the stock of medical supplies.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
· Completion of a certified Medical Technician or Medical Assistant program is preferred.
· Phlebotomy certification preferred.
· Proficiency in phlebotomy and sample collections.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially when discussing sensitive health topics.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.
· Basic computer skills for record-keeping and documentation.
· Able to listen, identify a need, and offer a solution to a potential patient.
· Self-motivated and a team player.
