Growing Distribution company looking for a Material Handler/ Forklift Operator to join their team on a contract to hire basis in Landover, MD.
Position: Material Handler/ Forklift Operator
Pay: $20/hr
Hours: Monday- Friday, 12-8:30pm.
Job Duties of Material Handler/ Forklift Operator:
· Picks customer orders from inventory stock and completes to meet productivity and accuracy standards.
· Checks and verifies pallets picked upon completion.
· Verifies picked pallets to validate accuracy.
· Attaches proper paperwork to pallets indicating correct delivery address for destination of customer order.
· Follows all safety guidelines and rules; environmental and regulatory guidelines; uses all required safety equipment to include a full body harness.
· Maintains quality and 5S Standards of the work area and equipment.
· Communicates with lead consistently.
· Operates Order Picker, to transfer picked pallets, to staging/loading areas.
· Hand Held Scanner experience a must.
Requirements of Material Handler/ Forklift Operator:
· Order packing experience a must.
· Cherry Picker equipment preferred however agility to pick 4 feet off the floor a must.
· Maintains related equipment by, electrical charge hook-up, and any other items to maintain the safety compliance.
· High School graduate or equivalent required.
· Ability to or be trained to operate an order picker
· Basic math skills; i.e., addition/subtraction/multiplication.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds continuously throughout shift.
· Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen
