NPSG Global seeks individuals for warehouse material handling systems installation who are highly skilled in construction, self-sufficient and able to train others. NPSG Associates are critical thinkers who work in team environments, performing a variety of tasks associated with installation, including reading blueprints and using power tools. They are mechanically inclined with a strong commitment to working safely in a warehouse construction environment. Successful candidates will have experience operating powered lift equipment, such as forklifts, and properly using rigging to complete tasks. They will have performed work on structural steel jobs, welding, and or iron work. Essential to success are dependability, taking pride in producing quality results, with a great perspective towards collaboration with fellow team members. Associates may be tasked with a variety of duties where flexibility is required. Willingness to work long hours to attain the desired results is critical to the organization’s success.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work order, bills of material, or reports to determine material requirements or assembly instructions.
- Raising, placing, and uniting steel/metal beams, columns, and other structural members to form completed structures or structural framework.
- Erecting metal beams and assembling prefabricated metal platforms.
- Installing platforms, mezzanines, and mechanical structures in warehouse environment.
- Following all safety policies and guidelines outlined by NPSG and partnering contracting organization.
- Assembling complex structures and workstations.
- Loading and unloading of build specific materials.
- Hoisting steel beams, or columns into place using powered industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, telehandler, etc.
- Connecting columns, beams, and fillers with bolts according to blueprints.
- Bolting aligned structural steel members in position for permanent riveting, bolting, or welding into place.
- Installing steel beams and utilizing power tools while working on elevated surfaces.
- Installing decking, anchors, and handrails.
- Keeping and maintaining work area in a clean and safe manner.
Requirements:
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
- Clean driving record, preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with leadership and co-workers.
- Willingness to obtain forklift and scissor lift certifications (company sponsored) within 30 days of employment.
- Ability to read blueprints/directions to determine the locations, quantities, or sizes of materials required for the build.
- Ability to verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural steel members, using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, or levels.
- A working mechanical aptitude and good dexterity.
- Working experience with hand/power tools.
- Basic computer skills.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year experience working in an industry equivalent role.
- Powered industrial equipment experience with forklift, telehandler, scissor lift, preferred.
- Rigging experience and the ability to fasten structural steel members to hoist cables, using chains, cables, or slings, preferred.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Installation Technicians work in a warehouse and construction production environment, this position will require the use of personal protective equipment, including reinforced, steel toed shoes, safety vest, hard hat, hearing protection.
- The employee will be regularly required to use arms, hands, and fingers to handle, feel and reach with frequent requirements to sit, climb, balance, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch for a significant portion of the day.
- Employee will be required to regularly lift, move, carry or push/pull equipment up to 70 pounds.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Employee must be able to work from elevated areas such as ladders, scaffolds, and platforms, and are regularly exposed to outside whether conditions, wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. Noise level in this work environment may be loud.
