Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Manager to oversee the maintenance and operations of our facility. The Building Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of all building systems, managing maintenance staff, and coordinating with contractors and vendors. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent organizational skills.
Personnel shall be fully trained with subject matter expertise regarding daily operations/repairs, facility management, energy management, commercial building equipment repair/ maintenance, laboratory equipment repair/ maintenance, housekeeping, landscape maintenance, structural repair/ maintenance, and possess a professional level of experience to accomplish the requirement(s) without our client's supervision, oversight, or other means of intervention.
Project management services based in Washington DC is solely responsible for the repair, maintenance and construction activities using a range of contracted services for O&M, housekeeping, landscaping, equipment repairs and preventive maintenance. Blue's client will be flexible in the “ramp-up” discussions on assuming project management duties.
Duties:
- Manage and supervise maintenance staff, including assigning tasks, providing training, and evaluating performance
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the proper functioning of all building systems
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and address them promptly
-Develop, implement and maintain an effective Quality Control system which includes a written Quality Control Plan (QCP)
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for repairs, renovations, and equipment installations
- Oversee the operation of electrical systems, including low voltage and high voltage equipment
- Manage projects related to building improvements or upgrades
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain records of safety inspections
- Respond to emergency situations and address any issues that may arise in a timely manner
- Fabricate or repair components as needed using industrial maintenance skills
- Safeguarding all client equipment, information and property provided for Contractor use
- Provide oversight and onsite management for daily building operations and project management as needed for their assigned employees and locations.
-Perform all daily administrative duties, tasks and all non-inherently client financial aspects of this requirement to assure seamless daily operations and services.
-Provide qualified resources to perform the tasks and submit deliverables
Requirements:
-This position will be based at one of the agency's site, located in NE Washington DC. However, this position will require you to commute just outside of Laurel, MD on an as needed basis.
- Have at a minimum of five (5) years of program management or facility management experience.
- Fully experienced in management of building operations, facility management and construction management.
- Possess effective management, organizational and problem solving skills related to complex building and facilities operations.
- Proven experience in building management or a related field
- Strong knowledge of maintenance management principles and practices
- Proficiency in electrical systems, including low voltage and high voltage equipment
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to supervise a team effectively and delegate tasks accordingly
- Experience in project management is preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
-May be required to travel occasionally to cover operations between these sites.
