Sage & Fifth Therapy Place is a fast-growing, mindfulness-based psychotherapy practice located in the heart of Washington, DC, dedicated to providing specialized, compassionate care for clients, including perinatal clients. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Perinatal Therapist to join our vibrant team and help support individuals and families navigating the challenges of the pre-conception, fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum period and perinatal loss.

Perinatal Mental Health Therapist Responsibilities:
- Provide individual therapy and Couples therapy to perinatal clients at all stages, from pre-conception to postpartum and perinatal loss.
- Establish trusting, empathetic relationships with clients, supporting them in navigating life transitions and mental health challenges.
- Develop and monitor personalized treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique needs.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including progress notes and treatment plans.
- Participate in regular individual supervision and/or bi-monthly team meetings to enhance clinical skills and provide support.
- Collaborate with clients' other healthcare providers (OB/GYNs, psychiatrists) as needed for comprehensive care.
- Maintain a minimum caseload of 24 client sessions per week.
Who We’re Looking For:
Experience: Must have prior experience working with perinatal clients. Couples therapy experience is a plus.
Perinatal Mental Health Therapist Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
- Experience working with perintal clients and diverse populations, including LGBTQIA2SP+ clients.
- Strong tech skills and familiarity with EMRs.
- This position is open to independently licensed clinicians and LGPCs/ LGSWs with atleast 1 year of postgraduate experience as we're looking therapists at various levels of experience.
***Fresh grads in the process of applying for their LGPC or LGSW license will only be considered for our other LG position that we're also hiring for and will still be able to choose the Perinatal Mental Health specialization track. Please look on our website for that other job posting.
Personal Qualities: We seek a therapist who is self-motivated, warm, compassionate, and a team player. You should have a genuine passion for perinatal mental health and be committed to cultural competency.
Bonus Points for:
- Experience/ training in couples therapy.
- Bilingual candidates.
- Familiarity with mindfulness, yoga, or holistic practices.
- Dual licenses in DC and surrounding states (MD/VA).
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive Salary: $65-85K/ yr+ for full-time positions, commensurate with experience.
