Motivate is seeking qualified Assistant Operations Managers to ensure efficient daily activities within various operational departments for Washington DC's bikeshare system. The assistant manager will be responsible for daily supervision of the assigned operational teams, empowering employees with resources needed to conduct their duties, working in partnership with all team members to identify and ensure operational improvements are implemented, and otherwise ensuring safety and performance standards are met or exceeded.
About the Role
- Lead teams and individuals to success through the entire employee life cycle for an hourly, union workforce; monitoring employee performance and ensuring engagement
- Oversee scheduling and conduct daily supervision of the workforce; ensure the beginning and end of shift process runs smoothly
- Lead daily operational standups including shift goals and safety topics, record and report daily operational metrics
- Oversee projects and processes, for both warehouse and field-based operations
- Monitor daily operational metrics to support the department meeting all KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
- Work in partnership with other operational and support departments to ensure timely and productive workflows for continuous operational improvement
- Ensure that safety and quality control processes are in place and followed
About You
- You bring prior experience in both warehouse and field-based operations, with previous supervisory experience for an hourly operations team engaging for productivity and performance, preferably overseeing employees in a union environment
- You are a self-starter, thrive in a fast paced, quickly changing environment with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- You are mechanically inclined and curious about new technologies, tools, and processes
- You are technology proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and can quickly learn new software
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with a wide range of audiences
- You have a current driver’s license and can meet the Motor Vehicle Record requirements (for the departments where these are required)
- You are comfortable working in a warehouse environment as well as outdoors, year-round in all weather conditions, in an urban setting and can meet the physical requirements of the position
