Experienced Medical Assistant for Washington, DC AND Tysons, VA
$23 - $26/hr Full Time: Mon. - Friday 40 Hours (no weekends)
Seeking experienced Medical Assistant who is willing to work in both Washington, DC and Tysons VA for a busy Allergy practice. Looking for someone with high attention to detail who will follow policies and protocols, has stellar interpersonal and communication skills and has a desire to provide outstanding patient care. A positive attitude and professional demeanor are essential. You must be a fast learner, eager to learn new things, and be detail oriented. We require COVID vaccinations and perform background checks on all new hires.
*This position floats between 2 locations: Washington, DC (3 days a week) & Tysons, VA (two days a week).
- Mon. Tysons, VA 8:00- 4:30
- Tues. Wash, DC 8:00- 4:30
- Wed. Wash, DC 8:00- 4:30
- Thur. Tysons, VA 7:00- 3:30
- Fri. Wash, DC 8:00- 4:30
Duties:
- Assist physician with examination and documentation
- Administer subcutaneous injections and blood draws
- Perform allergy skin prick testing
- Performs intradermal testing
- Performs penicillin drug testing
- Performs venom testing
- Performs patch testing
- Performs Spirometry testing
- Record and update patient history, vitals, allergies, medications
- Perform medication prior authorizations and refill requests
- Orders supplies as necessary
- Manage patient flow for optimal productivity
- Requires professionalism during all interactions
- Performs patient education and administration duties
- Prepares, cleans, stocks and sterilizes each room for next patient
*Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program, or equivalent experience
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant by an accredited organization
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Demonstrated competence in clinical, medical and laboratory procedures
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and pharmacology
- Computer literacy and experience in medical software
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and integrity
- Ability to comply with ethical and legal standards
