We are a mobile STEM enrichment program offering summer camps at various locations across Fairfax County. We are looking for an Office Manager / Administrative Assistant to help manage our operations year-round. This role offers part-time hours (20-30 hours per week) throughout the year, with the potential for increased hours during the summer (June–July).

Job Overview:

This role is ideal for someone organized, proactive, and comfortable balancing office work with occasional on-site support. You’ll handle staff coordination, scheduling, administrative tasks, and logistics to ensure our summer camps and year-round programs run smoothly.

Responsibilities:

Hiring & Onboarding: Assist with recruiting, scheduling interviews, and onboarding 50+ summer camp staff annually.
Staff Support & Scheduling: Manage employee schedules, check timesheets, and assist with payroll processing.
Office Administration: Maintain supplies, organize paperwork, and handle communication with staff and vendors.
Camp Operations: Visit camp locations as needed to monitor staff, ensure materials are prepared, and assist with on-site logistics.
Logistics & Coordination: Arrange transportation, manage vendor communication, and oversee supply purchases.
Ongoing Administrative Support: Assist with year-round program planning and operational improvements.
Weekend Prep: Dedicate a few hours on Saturdays (1-2 hrs) to prepare for the upcoming week, when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Self-starter with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Previous experience in office administration, summer camps, education, or event planning is a plus.
Basic computer skills (installing files, setting up routers, troubleshooting).
Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and MS Office.
Strong communication and team coordination abilities.
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Must pass a background check (required for working with children).
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to different camp locations as needed (mileage reimbursed).
