Chef/Kitchen Assistant:

Supporting our Treasury Dining Room Services Contract

MUST be able to pass a government background check

Duties include:

· Food Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of ingredients, such as chopping vegetables, peeling fruits, and measuring ingredients.

· Cleaning and Sanitizing: Keeping the kitchen area clean and sanitized by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. Sweeping and mopping floors and wiping down surfaces. Organizing Supplies: Ensuring that kitchen supplies, ingredients, and utensils are well-organized and easily accessible.

· Assisting Cooks and Chefs: Providing support to cooks and chefs during food preparation, such as fetching ingredients, carrying out instructions, and maintaining a well-organized workspace.

· Stocking and Replenishing: Monitoring and restocking kitchen supplies, including food items, condiments, and other essentials.

· Dishwashing: Responsible for washing, drying, and properly storing dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils.

· Trash Removal: Disposing of kitchen waste and maintaining proper waste disposal procedures.

· Assisting with Food Service: Helping with the plating, serving of dishes, and ensuring that the dining area is clean and well-maintained.

· Compliance with Safety and Hygiene Standards: Adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment.

· Assisting in Inventory Management: Keeping track of inventory levels and notifying the relevant personnel when supplies need to be replenished.

· Supporting Special Events: Assisting during busy periods, special events, or catering functions as needed.

· Following Instructions: Following directions and guidelines provided by chefs, cooks, or kitchen management.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
