We are seeking a reliable and motivated Driver (Independent Contractor) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently while providing excellent customer service. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and the ability to handle heavy lifting and moving tasks. As an independent contractor, you will have the flexibility to manage your own schedule while ensuring timely deliveries.
Duties
- Safely operate a box truck or similar vehicle for route driving and deliveries.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling of items to prevent damage.
- Navigate delivery routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing any inquiries or concerns from clients.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and inventory as required.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure operational safety.
- Utilize equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks for loading and unloading tasks when necessary.
- Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including organizing inventory and preparing shipments.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Experience in warehouse operations is a plus, including familiarity with loading and unloading procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks safely.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission is advantageous.
- Knowledge of route driving techniques and local roadways is beneficial.
- Forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided.
