We are currently offering a $2,500 sign-on bonus for Truck Driver new hires. $1,250 is payable after 90-days of employment, and the remaining $1,250 is payable after 180 days of employment.
Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Truck Driver in District Heights, Maryland. The Truck Driver is responsible for completing daily parts deliveries to Carter Machinery facilities and customer sites. Additional responsibilities include performing general warehouse duties to include parts shipping, receiving, stocking and order fulfillment. Seeking candidates with previous experience driving heavy capacity trucks, required; CDL B license required; High school diploma or equivalent required; Previous experience delivering parts and performing warehouse duties preferred.
Requirements for the Truck Driver position include:
- CDL B licensure with the ability to operate a F250 truck required.
- Excellent driving record.
- Thorough knowledge of DOT and Company safety standards and regulations and ability to conduct pre/post/periodic trip inspections to ensure safety and equipment is in good working order.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Must be able to load, unload, and secure cargo for transport.
- Self-starter able to work with limited supervision.
- Must be able to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Must be able to work additional hours as needed to meet customer demands.
- Must possess ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack.

Physical requirements must be met for the Truck Driver job, including the ability to qualify for Department of Transportation medical card. Able to carry and maneuver items up to 70 pounds, including bulky objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Starting Compensation Range: $24.47 – $33.91 per hour
Actual base pay may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and other business needs. In addition to base pay, total compensation may include participation in performance-based incentive programs, such as discretionary or non-discretionary plans.
