POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently recruiting for an Executive Assistant. This full time position pays $17.45 an hour and is in Wheaton, MD.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Calendar Management: Oversee the Director's and Division Chiefs' calendars, coordinating and scheduling meetings, appointments, and events.
- Liaison Role: Serve as the primary point of contact between the Department of Recreation, the Office of the County Executive, senior management, elected officials, external organizations, and the public.
- Project and Issue Tracking: Monitor and track the status of ongoing projects, initiatives, and constituent concerns.
- Event Planning: Plan and execute high-profile meetings, events, and summits, including logistics coordination and equipment setup.
- Agenda Preparation: Conduct research and prepare materials such as agendas, presentations, and meeting summaries for official engagements.
- Correspondence and Documentation: Draft, edit, proofread, and format reports, memos, correspondence, and other documents as needed.
- Special Projects: Plan and coordinate special meetings, events, and awards programs, ensuring seamless execution and communication with leadership.
- General Administrative Support: Handle inquiries, resolve issues, and provide staff support to various task forces, committees, and programs within the Department.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently; must be self-motivated.
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
- Ability to understand and adhere to the duties, methods, and procedures required by the position.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen attention to detail, essential for creating clear and professional documents.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a proven track record of building relationships and handling sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
- Demonstrated expertise in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making, with the ability to navigate complex situations effectively.
- Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, plan, and execute tasks while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
- Experience in administrative support, event planning, and managing complex schedules, ideally within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma, required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Standard hours of work Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, however evening and weekend hours will be required.
- Travel will be required.
