Position Summary:
WMATA is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Medical Services Assistant to provide on-site administrative and clinical support within the Medical Office. This temporary, full-time position requires availability to work throughout the DC–Maryland–Virginia metro region (DMV) at WMATA-designated facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality of all employee and applicant medical files, records, and related information in compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
- Coordinate and schedule employees for WMATA-required medical examinations in a timely manner with relevant divisions and departments.
- Prepare and organize EKG, spirometry, and x-ray results for physician interpretation.
- Ensure proper labeling and handling of all medical specimens, adhering to chain-of-custody requirements.
- Maintain and calibrate medical equipment, performing minor adjustments when necessary.
- Support daily clinical operations by assisting with basic health screenings, updating medical records, and preparing documentation for medical staff review.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate Degree in Allied Health Sciences, completion of two years of collegiate-level coursework in Allied Health Sciences, or completion of a certified medical assistant training program from an accredited institution.
- Certification: Certified or eligible Medical Assistant; must possess at least minimal-level D BAT (Breath Alcohol Testing) certification.
- Experience: At least one (1) year of experience working in a medical office or similar clinical support environment.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
