Job Description
Seeking an experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician for one of our long-time held apartment communities in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical integrity of the property and fulfilling his responsibilities. This includes maintaining a safe and sanitary living environment for residents, guests, visitors, and staff. The Maintenance Technician assists with all aspects of the property's maintenance including the physical grounds, custodial, preventative, corrective, deferred and emergency.
The candidate will also be responsible for following the maintenance program to protect and maintain the property.
Physical Demands and Requirements:
- Able to physically perform the following duties for prolonged periods of time
- Unassisted lifting up to 50 pounds
- Bending, Walking, Kneeling, Stretching
- Able to work on step ladders or extension ladders up to 30 feet
- Able to work in confined spaces, indoors and outdoors in all climates, and unclean environments with fumes, dust, and poor ventilation while adhering to company safety requirements and programs
- Able to perform all duties in a safe manner at all times
Maintenance Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Technician must have the ability to install, service, replace and repair the following items in a responsible and professional manner that meets industry standards.
These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- HVAC systems
- Drywall repairs
- Turnover units
- Vinyl and ceramic floor
- Wall molding, Caulking, Countertops, and cabinets
- Window screens and blinds
- Interior and exterior building
- Electrical circuits, receptacles, breakers, switches, and fuses
- Light fixtures
- Appliances (stoves, refrigerators, washers, and dryers)
- Plumbing
- Toilets, sinks, vanities and disposals
- Inspect boiler and storage rooms
- Rodent control
- Snow removal
- Sub-flooring, wall studs and floor joists
- Removing bulk trash (including appliances)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Must have the basic proficiency of reading and writing of the English language.
- HVAC certified
- Minimum one-year full-time maintenance experience
- Willingness to perform all required tasks
- Demonstrated knowledge of work safety habits
- Ability to professionally represent the company
- Supply basic tools
- Must maintain a valid drivers' license and reliable transportation
- Able to work on-call and extended hours (including after hours and weekends)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is desired
- Must pass a criminal background check.
