We are seeking an Administrative Intern to join our corporate admin team. If you are a driven individual who is diligent, detail-oriented, and looking to make an impact, this internship may be a great fit for you.
The Administrative Intern is responsible for supporting a variety of administrative and Branch functions such as reviewing and analyzing reports, answering phones and making calls, filing, managing supplies, drafting correspondences, proofreading and editing, maintaining storage inventory, and other office-related work.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with outbound and inbound communications related to overdue accounts (phone, email, and written correspondence).
- Prepare and send payment reminders, past-due notices, and follow-up letters.
- Track account statuses and update internal systems with collection activity notes.
- Coordinate with clients, customers, or third-party collection agencies to resolve delinquent accounts.
- Verify account balances, payment histories, and documentation before initiating or escalating collection efforts.
- Arrange payment plans and document agreements according to company policies.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records, including invoices, payment logs, receipts, and compliance documentation.
- Assist in preparing reports for audits, compliance reviews, and internal financial assessments.
- Ensure documentation aligns with regulatory standards and company policies (e.g., Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, internal financial controls).
- Monitor compliance deadlines and alert management of upcoming requirements or missing documentation.
- Review financial data for accuracy and flag discrepancies for follow-up.
- Support the finance team with basic accounting tasks such as data entry, invoice processing, and payment tracking.
- Generate routine reports on collection status, overdue accounts, and compliance metrics.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time role with the work hours being 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with occassional extended hours if needed. Days are Monday-Friday. One Saturday a month may be required as well.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be computer literate with an in-depth understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, namely Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be able to review and/or compile data spreadsheets in an efficient and effective manner.
- Extremely strong attention to detail is essential for this role.
- Effective and professional communication skills in both verbal and written format.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to work independently on assigned tasks with minimal follow-up from supervisors.
- Must be deadline-driven, self-motivated, and able to follow through with assigned tasks.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of Credit Union Experience.
