Serves as the backup Fairfax County Public Library (FCPL) point of contact for facility-related matters and the agency's secondary liaison to Facilities Management, Risk Management, Capital Facilities, Stormwater Management, Purchasing and Supply Management and Information Technology in relation to facilities. Coordinates with the facilities supervisor for the oversight to repair and maintenance of 22 library branches, Technical Operations Center, Access Services and Administration offices. Under general supervision, performs professional and technical analyses of discrete project and program segments including scopes, costs, submission of work orders and follow-up. Researches and responds to citizen and staff inquiries regarding buildings and safety through coordination with partner agencies. Tracks and monitors all facility-related issues involving the library system. Provides onboarding and regular training to library staff on subjects including facilities maintenance, risk management and security procedures. Relays critical operating status updates to library leadership. Performs other duties as may be assigned to further the goals and objectives of FCPL.

Annual Rate: The selected applicant's starting annual rate will be in the minimum to midpoint range of $68,774.37 to $91,699.71 not to exceed the mid-point of the advertised compensation range (Compensation rules apply per County personnel regulations for current Fairfax County Government and Fairfax County Public Schools employees).
Schedule: Occasional overtime may be required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in planning, architecture, engineering, public or business administration or a closely related field: plus, two years of experience in performing building maintenance, repair and/or construction, or in managing residential or facilities development projects.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid driver's license.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Two or more years of experience in facilities management, including:

Coordinating and overseeing facility maintenance and repairs.

Managing multi-scale office renovations and new construction projects.

Conducting facility and building inspections to ensure workplace safety compliance.

Reading and interpreting blueprints.

Experience in planning and delivering group training sessions.

Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word to prepare reports.

Experience presenting information to department leadership.

Strong customer service background.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Physical requirements are applicable to all duties. Ability to input, access and retrieve information from a computer. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Ability to travel to various locations throughout Fairfax County. Incumbent must be able to communicate clearly with others. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
