Building Maintenance Helper
Lerner Enterprises, the leading real estate management company in the Washington Metropolitan area, is seeking a Maintenance Helper for our premier Class-A commercial office properties located in Tysons Virginia.

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Helper is an entry level position. The Maintenance Helper is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Mechanic or Engineer with basic plumbing, lighting, electrical duties and other assigned building related tasks. The Maintenance Helper will also assist with routine inspections, preventive maintenance tasks, and other general building duties such as painting and housekeeping as assigned by his/her supervisor.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform basic maintenance and repair of building interior and exterior components and building systems.
- Assist with daily inspections of public areas and make repairs as necessary.
- Assist in the preventive maintenance program as assigned by his/her supervisor.
- Assist Engineers in placing orders for compressors, pumps, motors, parts, etc., with suppliers.
- Ability to use regular and special tools (ex. screwdrivers, hammers, adjustment gauges)
- Position is categorized as ‘Essential Personnel,’ requiring site response to emergencies, floods, storms, power failures, snow removal, etc. as needed/directed.
Education/Experience:
A high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is desired.
This is an entry level position but any general building trade experience is desirable.
Additional Skills:
- Possess adequate sight, hearing and speaking capabilities to maintain a safe working condition and be able to distinguish wire colors and component color codes.
- Ability to communicate effectively and execute written and oral instructions and perform basic arithmetic calculations.
- Must be reliable, dependable with excellent attendance, flexible and versatile.
- Ability to climb portable and fixed ladders and work at heights.'
