The Warehouse Assistant / Warehouse Driver is responsible for supporting warehouse operations and ensuring the safe and efficient handling of company tools, equipment, materials, and vehicles. This role involves maintaining warehouse organization, assisting with shipping and receiving, and performing vehicle and equipment inspections. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Shipping & Receiving Support
- Assist with all functions related to shipping and receiving of project and company-related tools, materials, equipment, and vehicles.
- Tasks include but are not limited to: receiving, unloading, staging, labeling, loading, securing, shipping, driving, delivering, and documenting at the warehouse, vendor locations, jobsites, and other designated areas.
Inventory & Organization
- Support inventory management, cleaning, maintenance, and organization of the warehouse, office, and other locations as directed.
Vehicle Maintenance & Reporting
- Inspect, maintain, clean, and service warehouse trucks before and after use.
- Complete and submit DVIR logs and other required reports to the Warehouse Manager and Operations Manager as requested.
Equipment & Tool Maintenance
- Inspect, maintain, clean, and service warehouse tools and equipment before and after use.
- Document and report conditions using logs and other approved methods.
Facilities Support
- Assist with office/property repairs, maintenance, groundskeeping, and janitorial tasks as needed.
- Assist with the set-up and breakdown of company events and meetings.
Safety Compliance
- Operate with required PPE at all times to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Additional Duties
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills; fluent in English (Spanish proficiency preferred).
- General knowledge of construction tools and materials.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize urgent needs effectively.
- Ability to maneuver and lift heavy objects safely.
Qualifications:
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required.
- Authorized to work for any U.S. employer
- DOT license preferred; CDL license desired.
- OSHA 10 certification desired.
- Heavy equipment certifications/licenses preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel between DC, MD, & VA (and other states) as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must adhere to all safety protocols and wear PPE as required.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects regularly (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (warehouse, jobsite, outdoors).
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Role involves warehouse work, and travel to jobsites, vendors, and other designated areas.
