Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and pediatric heel-stick blood collection in accordance with established guidelines, safety standards, and hospital policies.
- Complete scheduled blood draws within expected timeframes during assigned shifts.
- Verify patient identity and accurately label specimens with correct patient information and test orders.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other laboratory and hospital personnel to ensure specimen quality and prevent mislabeling.
- Provide outpatient phlebotomy services while maintaining patient comfort, safety, and professionalism.
- Enter, verify, and update patient orders in the laboratory information system as required.
- Process and prepare specimens for transport and shipment following established protocols.
- Perform additional administrative and operational duties as assigned
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Education and Work Experience:

- Must possess a high school diploma or GED

- Passed an accreditated course including clinical experience or have 1 year of continuous phlebotomy experience

- Epic (if applicable to position)

- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:

- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.

- Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

- Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.

- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Other Requirements:

- Must possess skills in patient and customer relations, computer literacy.

- Must be able to perform venipuncture and processing of lab samples for in-house and reference laboratory testing.

- Operate simple medical laboratory equipment i.e. centrifuge.
Min: USD $18.66/Hr. Max: USD $30.79/Hr. Benefits:
