Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team in overseeing daily operations within a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive hospitality management experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supporting restaurant management, supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining operational efficiency across all departments. A background in food preparation, kitchen management, and team development is essential to succeed in this position.
Duties
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, including food service, kitchen activities, and customer experience
- Supervise and train staff on food handling, POS systems, & Service Standards
- Manage inventory control, food safety compliance, and ensure proper food production standards are maintained
- Oversee shift management to ensure smooth service during peak hours and coordinate staffing needs accordingly
- Handle cash transactions accurately and perform cash handling duties
- Support budgeting processes and assist in controlling costs related to food and labor expenses
- Lead staff training programs focused on culinary skills, food safety, hospitality standards, and team development
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards across all operational areas
- Collaborate with culinary teams on menu execution, food presentation, and quality assurance for casual dining, fine dining, catering, or banquet services
- Participate in interviewing prospective employees and contribute to hiring decisions
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, leadership development, and high employee morale
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant management or hospitality management roles with a focus on food service operations
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management
- Hands-on experience with POS systems ; cash handling expertise required
- Strong supervisory skills with previous experience in staff training & development and team management
- Knowledge of inventory control procedures and food safety regulations
- Experience managing quick service & fast-food restaurants as well as casual dining establishments; fine dining or hotel experience is a plus
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative work environment
- Excellent communication skills with proficiency in interviewing candidates and managing shift schedules
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of customer service
- Culinary experience or background in food production is highly desirable; hospitality or banquet experience is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs, and implement operational improvements

Pay: $70,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
