Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class A CDL Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong safety record, excellent driving skills, and the flexibility to handle varying schedules and overnight travel. This role involves transporting freight safely and efficiently while maintaining compliance with all DOT and company regulations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and company safety regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns before and after driving shifts
- Plan efficient routes to optimize delivery times while adhering to hours-of-service regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding pick-up/delivery status, delays, or route changes
- Follow all company safety and operational procedures
- Represent the company professionally with customers and partners
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience with valid Class A license
- Clean driving record for past 5 years
- Must pass FMCSA clearinghouse background checks
- Strong knowledge of load securement techniques
- Must be able to successfully complete English Language Proficiency (ELP) testing
- Ability to travel overnight when required (minimum 2 consecutive nights as needed)
- Must be willing to obtain a HAZMAT endorsement
- Ability to work irregular start times based on operational needs
- Must meet all DOT physical and drug testing requirements
- Familiarity with route driving strategies to ensure timely deliveries
- Excellent safety awareness and adherence to transportation regulations
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with dispatch and warehouse teams
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in regional or long-haul trucking
- Experience handling time-sensitive freight
