POSITION SUMMARY
National Neuropathy Center is seeking a dedicated, professional, compassionate, and highly organized Certified Medical Assistant to join our clinical team in Reston, Virginia. This position is well suited for a candidate who is committed to delivering high-quality patient care, administrative support, clinical efficiency, and contributing to positive patient experience in a specialty practice environment, including pain management.
This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service, and the ability to work effectively. The Medical Assistant will support providers and patients throughout the course of care by performing a combination of clinical and administrative duties. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome patients in a professional and courteous manner and assist with the intake process
- Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for evaluation and treatment
- Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical histories, current medications, chief complaints, and subcutaneous injections.
- Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and clinical supplies
- Enter and update patient information in the electronic medical record system with accuracy and confidentiality
- Provide patients with instructions regarding treatment plans, follow-up visits, referrals, and general office procedures
- Coordinate patient flow to support an efficient and organized clinic schedule
- Assist with appointment scheduling, patient communications, and follow-up tasks
- Support basic administrative functions, including chart preparation, scanning, filing, and documentation
- Provide support in administrative functions including billing, coding, and insurance verification.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control guidelines, and established office policies
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and administrative team members to ensure continuity of care and operational excellence
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Prior experience in a medical office, outpatient clinic, or specialty practice
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical workflows, and patient care procedures
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard office software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality at all times
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to commute to Virginia Beach without any issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in neurology, neuropathy care, pain management, vascular care, or another specialty practice
- Familiarity with referrals, insurance verification, prior authorizations, and patient follow-up processes

Compensation
- Starting $23.00 per hour (with training and room to grow)
