Maryland Family Resource, Inc. is an outpatient mental health center that provides a continuum of mental health services for individuals with psychiatric disorders in Prince George's County, MD. We are currently seeking qualified applicants for the following position:
PRP Administrative Assistant (Full-Time):
The PRP Administrative Assistant (full-time) works to assist individuals with mental illness to reach a higher level of independence. Services which are provided are individualized and based upon a detailed needs assessment which is conducted on each consumer. The PRP Administrative Assistant provides support with accessing and coordinating benefits, services and community-based resources.
This position has a hybrid work schedule to include both working remotely and in-office flexibility. Availability in the usual business hours (9am - 6pm) will be preferred and the candidate should also remain flexible for scheduling work shifts during these business hours.
Education and Experience
1. Bachelor degree in a related field; or
2. At least 6 months of direct mental health experience (preferably with a knowledge of PRP services and authorization processes)
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the PRP Rehab Specialist/Clinical Manager, the PRP Administrative Assistant will work to accomplish the following responsibilities:
1. As a member of the treatment team, collaborate with clinicians both within MFR and external to MFR who are the referring clinicians of MFR’s PRP consumers
2. Update the PRP Excel spreadsheet to ensure authorization and paperwork deadlines are met per the consumer
3. Ensure the completion of a minimum of 5 initial referrals per week
a. Call potential consumers to determine interest in participation based on current PRP policies
b. Upload completed referral and Individual Treatment Plan (ITP) into Incedo (or the ASO for Maryland Medicaid)
c. Follow up with initial authorizations to determine status
i. If received a denial, resubmit initial authorization
ii. If received an approval, inform PRP Rehab Specialist/Clinical Manager the need for PRP Coordinator assignment
4. Facilitate the completion of all concurrent authorizations due the following month
a. Upload signed PRP IRP and completed clinical collaboration into Incedo (or the ASO for Maryland Medicaid)
b. Follow up with initial authorizations to determine status
i. If received a denial, resubmit concurrent authorization
ii. If received an approval, enter the new authorization period in Credible (or MFR’s Electronic Health Records)
5. Contact Optum for any PRP authorization questions and/or issues
6. Follow up with all discharged PRP consumers approximately 30 days after discharge date and update Credible (or MFR’s Electronic Health Records) to note discharge
7. Work with PRP Rehab Specialist/Clinical Manager regarding quality assurance needs if applicable to PRP
8. Maintain PRP case load if applicable
9. Execute and facilitate the PRP events and increase community outreach
